Sheda and Unimas ink MOU to embark on research and human capital development

KUCHING, April 5: Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (Sheda) and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop timely real-world research works and other academic and non-academic programmes.

According to Sheda in a press statement today, through the MOU for research and human capital development, Sheda together Unimas will embark on a “journey to see what everybody else has seen and to think nobody else has thought”.

“The MOU shall tap on Unimas’s research expertise, bringing all the best minds together and align all efforts to develop timely real-world research works and other academic and non-academic programmes, for the advancement of Sheda’s members, together with Unimas faculty members and students, the housing industry and ultimately the Sarawak state at large,” it said.


The MOU document exchange ceremony was hosted by Unimas vice chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaid at Unimas campus today with the attendance of Associate Professor Ir. Dr Siti Noor Linda Taib (Dean, Faculty of Engineering), Professor Ar Nurakmal Abdullah Goh Tuo (Dean, Faculty of Built Environment), Professor Ir Dr Andrew Ragai Henry Rigit (Deputy Dean, Faculty of Engineering), Sr Gui Hun Chuen (Deputy Dean, Faculty of Built Environment) and Dr Lee Yee Yong (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering).

Also present during the ceremony were Sheda’s president Dr Christopher Ngui, deputy president Augustine Wong, secretary-general Dr Richard Tan and past president Zaidi Ahmad. — DayakDaily
