Sexagenarian in Siburan injured by falling banana tree

KUCHING, Nov 20: A sexagenarian in Siburan suffers injuries after being crushed by banana tree yesterday (Nov 19).

According to a report from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, they received a call regarding the incident from the victim’s son at 10.01pm and deployed Bomba Siburan personnel to the location.

“The operation commander reported that when conducting a size-up, the victim, in his 60s, was laying on the plantation road side complaining of pain in the neck and legs as a result of being crushed by a banana tree,” it said.


Following that, the victim was later brought to the main road on a stretcher by firefighters.

“He was handed over to medical personnel from Ministry of Health (MOH) to be transported to a hospital for further treatment,” it added. — DayakDaily
