‘Sex video scandal will have little impact on Azmin as a leader’

Voon Shiak Ni

KUCHING, June 14: The sex video scandal has little impact on public confidence of Minister of Economic Affairs Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, as a whole.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) National vice Woman chief Voon Shiak Ni said she could not see how the allegations could sway public confidence on Azmin’s leadership.

“Azmin has a strong proven track record of his strength, commitment and capability as a minister, as the people’s leader and a party leader,” she said in a press statement today.

“Instead, I view the sex video allegations, which was unfairly hurled against Azmin, will in turn garner him all the more public support and public recognition as a leader to be reckoned with in our country.”

Voon pointed out that the use of the sex video scandal as a political tool to discredit and smear one’s competitor or opponent in the political arena was not at all an unfamiliar gutter tactic.

“It has been used against various top leaders in Malaysia for the past decade. For us in PKR, we have all went through difficult times of the same for the past two decades, for the same reason affecting our top leader.”

Similarly this time, Voon stressed that PKR shall stay united in bracing against this round of gutter politics and rally behind Azmin.

“We have had enough of all these nonsensical sex videos in Malaysia, and if you are a considerate fellow Malaysian, please do not make Malaysia a mockery in the eyes of the world. Be fair to all Malaysians.

“I want to take this opportunity to also record my sincere appreciation to Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for his moral support and weathering the difficult times with us in Keadilan.” — DayakDaily
