SIBU, Nov 14: A total of seven persons were fined RM1,000 each for not observing physical distancing by an integrated RMCO enforcement team last night.
The team comprised two senior police officers, 27 rank and file personnel and six from other agencies which including Rela, army, and Sibu Municipal Council.
The operation from 6.30pm to 12 midnight was led by Sibu Crime Prevention and Community Policing Department chief, DSP Ariffin Bahar.
Sibu district police chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said of the seven persons, four of them were caught for not observing physical distancing by standing next to each other when placing their order at a kiosk machine.
“The other three were sitting together in the same table without complying with the one-metre physical distancing,” he said.
During the operation, a total of 36 summonses were also issued to motorists for various traffic offences. – DayakDaily
