KUCHING, Nov 14: At least 35 people were left homeless after a raging fire completely destroyed five houses at Kampung Bintawa Hulu this morning.
In the 1.47am incident, two other houses were partially destroyed after firefighters successfully prevent the flame from spreading further.
Seven motorcycles and three cars were also destroyed in the incident.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said the alert was received at 1.47am and three teams consist of 34 firefighters from Petra Jaya, Tabuan Jaya and Padungan stations were immediately rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, they launched a ‘fire break’ to prevent the fire from spreading further.
No injuries and casualties were reported while the cause of the fire is being investigated. — DayakDaily
