Motorcyclist, pillion rider killed in accident, victims dragged by 4W drive

Song, Nov 13: A motorcyclist and his pillion rider were killed after being hit and dragged by a four-wheel drive in front of the BB Cafe in Kalan Pekan here this afternoon.

Song District Police Chief DSP Rowney Michael Jalak said the accident happened at 4.45 pm.

According to him, the incident happened when the victim known as Gani Pengiran, 51, was riding a Yamaha LC motorcycle with a female pillion rider identified as 42-year-old Madeline Jak.


He said the motorcycle was believed to have been hit by a four-wheel-drive driven by a 48-year-old man.

“As a result of the incident, the motorcycle was dragged with the two victims trapped under the vehicle.

“Both victims succumbed to serious injuries,” he said.

Firemen from Song Fire and Rescue Station removed the two victims who were trapped under the four-wheel-drive vehicle using an ‘airbag’ to lift the vehicle.

The two bodies were then handed over to the police for further action.

“The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said. – DayakDaily
