Seven arrested in Simanggang for illegal lottery sales in Operation Dadu

SIMANGGANG, Sept 27: Seven individuals were arrested in connection with the sale of illegal lottery tickets during Operation Dadu, launched by the Simanggang District Police Headquarters (IPD) on Wednesday (Sept 25).

In a news report by TVS, Simanggang District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Mathew Manggie reported that the operation targeted seven premises in the town.

“Commencing at 3.30pm, Operation Dadu was initiated based on information and complaints from the public.

“The arrested individuals include four men and three women, aged between 21 and 33,” he stated in a press release today.

Matthew noted that during the inspections, police discovered and confiscated items believed to have been used by the suspects in conducting unauthorised public lottery sales.

All suspects were brought to the Simanggang IPD for further action, and the case is under investigation according to the Open Gaming Houses Act 1953. — DayakDaily
