SERIAN, Aug 8: Serian will be a booming town with the completion of the Industrial Training Centre (ILP) and Serian Health Clinic projects soon, says Serian MP Dato Sri Richard Riot Jaem.
He said while the ILP is now 95 per cent completed, the Type 3 Health Clinic is at 76 per cent.
“With these two big things (projects) coming to Serian, I strongly believe that Serian will be a totally different town in five years time.
“As you can see, Serian is different compared to 10 years back, so in five years from now, the town (Serian) will be more aspiring,” he told reporters today after officiating at the ‘Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang’ programme at SMK Serian.
He thanked both the Federal and Sarawak government for bringing both projects to Serian, which are adjacent to each other.
Riot fervently hoped that both projects will be fully operational in the first quarter of next year for the benefit of the people.
On the programme, Riot said he is very satisfied with the participant of students.
He said even though it was not as grand compared to the Sarawak Independence convoy, it was meaningful to instill the spirit of patriotism among students.
He also urged the people in Serian to fly the national flags, while not forgetting the sacrifice and struggle of the past leaders to fight for the country’s Independence. — DayakDaily
