Separating education from politics, pragmatism — reasons why education autonomy must return to S’wak

Datuk Larry Sng

KUCHING, Feb 18: Sarawak deserves total autonomy over its education as its leaders are pragmatic and would separate education from politics.

Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) president Datuk Larry Sng also deemed Sarawakian leaders capable of making the best decisions for their people.

He thus held that Sarawak should take back the role of managing its own education affairs from the federal government.

“Sarawakian leaders tend to be more pragmatic, trustworthy, and capable in determining what’s best for its people compared to their peninsula counterparts who are often entangled in West Malaysian politics,” said Sng in his Facebook post today.

On Jan 7, Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof said the federal government has agreed in principle to return Sarawak’s rights over education and health in accordance with the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63). — DayakDaily
