KUCHING, Oct 3: A senior citizen was killed after he was knocked down by a van at Jalan Bintawa, here this morning.
State Traffic Investigation Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said police received an emergency call at 6.50 am and immediately sent a team to the scene.
According to him, the van which was heading towards Pasar Bintawa from Stutong Baru area, collided with the 77-year-old man who was crossing to the right side of the road.
The man was pronounced dead by the paramedics at the scene and the body was later sent to the forensic department at Sarawak General Hospital.
Covid-19 test will be conducted on the deceased before a post mortem can be held. Police is investigating on this case. -DayakDaily
