BAU, July 22: A senior citizen was killed by a tree that fell on him in Singai this morning.
Metih Rai @ Rais, 64, died on the spot from the freak incident at Kampung Barieng Segong.
Fire and Rescue Department operations centre in a statement said that seven firefighters were dispatched to the scene after they received the emergency call at 10.50am.
“Firefighters managed to remove the victim’s remains from the tree to a safer area. He was confirmed dead by medical officers from Bau Hospital.
“His remains were then handed over to the police for further action,” the statement said.—DayakDaily
