KUCHING, June 8: Senator Abun Sui Anyit welcomes the allocation of an additional RM10 million by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Annuar Ibrahim to survey Native Customary Rights (NCR) land during the National Gawai Dayak Open House held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on June 7.
In a statement, Abun Sui said the Dayak community would be happy with the additional allocation to survey the NCR land under Section 18 of the Sarawak Land Code Chapter 81
He applauded Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Embas, who was also the organising chairman of the National Gawai Dayak Open House and on the successful event.
Abun Sui described the event as historical and saw it as a good start for Sarawak as the State government is moving along with the unity government at the Federal level.
“The Prime Minister who wants to use the Iban language ‘Segulai Sejalai’, in the future as a unifying tagline is good for the whole country and is in recognition of the Iban language, especially the Dayak community and Sarawak as a whole,” he said. — DayakDaily
