MIRI, Oct 16: The new Senadin Health Clinic is now fully operating, to help support services provided by Tudan Health Clinic at Jalan Tudan in Permyjaya.
“We hope that it will be sufficient to cater to the city’s growing population especially in the northern part of the city,” said Minister for Transport Dato Seri Lee Kim Shin-cum-Senadin assemblyman during the official opening of the health clinic earlier today.
The health clinic is located inside a two-storey shophouse building in Senadin.
Lee said the idea to establish a health clinic in the building was mooted by Miri Health Department after they identified the location in October 2021.
“The renovations to this building was fully funded by corporate firm ANDACT Sdn Bhd, with a cost of RM600,000,” he said.
Renovation work on the clinic commenced in January 2022. The clinic has been in operation since August 2022.
“Since it started operating a year ago, statistics for May 2022 showed 594 people came here per month….we have seen an increased in attendance to 2,590 people in August 2023, with an average of 120 to 130 patients per day to this clinic,” Lee told those present.
Also present were Miri Divisional Health officer Dr Raviwharmman Packierisamy, Miri Resident Jamalie Busrie and ANDACT Sdn Bhd director Lau Ping Tak. — DayakDaily
