KUCHING, July 2: Selangor police (PDRM) has confirmed that a report was lodged over the recent incident at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) involving Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Dato Sri Tiong King Sing yesterday (July 1).
According to a New Straits Times report, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan yesterday said the police report was made by a member of the public who requested an investigation into the incident.
“Action is being taken by the police and we have not yet classified the investigation papers that will be opened later,” he reportedly said.
On Thursday (June 29), it was reported that a minister has allegedly entered a restricted area at the airport to rescue a Chinese national who was detained when entering the country.
Tiong later confirmed that he was the minister involved but denied the allegation that he tried to release a visitor, stating that his visit was to expose corrupt activities at the country’s entry points. — DayakDaily
