Selangau prepping its Covid-19 high risk groups for Pfizer vaccination

KUCHING, Feb 21: Selangau is getting ready for vaccination as longhouse chieftains are to compile the names of Covid-19 high risk groups to determine the number of Pfizer BioNtech vaccine dosages required.

Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang said Selangau District Office has given the instruction to community leaders to secure the name lists of those aged 65 years and above since they are to be vaccinated after the frontliners.

“Good news for Malaysians as we know that the Covid-19 vaccine delivery arrived this morning at KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport).

“I was informed that frontliners will be the first batch to receive the vaccines and after that for folks at age 65 years old and above as this group is considered as high risk, and will continue on to other groups in phases,” he said in a statement today.

Adding on, Christopher urged members of the public who are willing to get vaccinated to start registering their names now as community immunity is one way of being ahead of the Coronavirus.

“Therefore, I appeal to the public to register for the vaccination. It is free to all Malaysians.

“This is the only way we can control Covid-19 from spreading further, therefore our bodies need the immune system against the disease by getting vaccinated.

“We must put trust in the vaccine as it is already approved by WHO (World Health Organisation) and safe to our body,” he remarked.—DayakDaily
