KUCHING, Nov 2: Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How will table a private member’s motion to refer Minister of Infrastructure Development and Transportation, Tan Sri Dr James Masing, to the Committee of Privileges in the coming state legislative assembly (DUN) sitting.

Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar said the motion was in relation to Masing’s speech in the last DUN sitting on the proposed second trunk road project, in which the details were deemed inconsistent by the PKR lawmaker.

“The motion is on a statement by the Honorable Member of Baleh (Masing) on the three occasions, where he mentioned about the distance of the trunk roads, to refer the matter and complain to the Committee of Privileges.

“It is also to relief Masing from the Committee of Privileges and the Standing Orders and Selection Committee, to nominate another member to serve in his place until the Committee of Privileges report on the matter in question,” Asfia told reporters after the pre-DUN meeting here today.

In August, See claimed that Masing, who is also deputy chief minister, provided contradictory statements about the road projects on two occasions. He said Masing had breached his privilege in the DUN, for presenting to a news portal information about the proposed trunk road project that was different from the one he provided at the DUN sitting.
