Security guards detain shirtless man causing ruckus in Sibu shopping complex

SIBU, Sept 27: A man was arrested for creating a commotion on the ground floor of Sanyan Shopping Complex here today.

A video of the incident which has gone viral showed the shirtless man wearing jeans engaged in a fight with a security personnel. He kicked and punched the guard until the guard collapsed.

Three guards came to their colleague’s rescue and pinned the suspect down before tying him up.

Sibu District Chief of Police ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit revealed a police team on beat duty rushed to the scene after receiving a call at 2.30pm from the public.

“When the police arrived at the location, they found that the man had been detained by the security guards. He has no identity documents and was handed over to the police,” he added.

Stanley also disclosed that a physical examination on the 24-year-old suspect revealed he had injuries on his right eye, bruises on his left eye, bruises under the chin, bumps on his forehead and scratches on his body.

“The suspect has been detained for investigation under Section 385 of the Penal Code for extortion and Section 323 of the same Code for voluntarily causing hurt,” he added. — DayakDaily
