KAPIT, Jan 6: A search operation has been launched today for a 38-year-old Henry Laing Ngau who went missing in the forest near Suau Camp, Baleh Kapit.
The victim was last seen entering the forest on January 4, at 9pm. He has not returned to the camp since then.
According to a report by Civil Defence Force (APM), the victim told his colleagues that he heard whispers resembling his parents calling him from within the forest before venturing in.
Meanwhile, in a separate report, the Kapit Fire and Rescue Department (BBP Kapit), led by Operations Commander PBK II Muhd Sufiyan Abdullah, has deployed a team of four personnel and one Hilux vehicle to the scene.
The team is working in coordination with the police and is currently en route to the location, which is 136 kilometers away.
The incident was reported at 1pm today, and rescue efforts are ongoing.
As of now, the victim remains missing. – DayakDaily
