KUCHING, Aug 28: Tanjung Manis is the only district in the State that is a Covid-19 green zone.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said Marudi, which was a green zone previously, is now an orange zone with a total of 33 local infection cases reported in the last 14 days.
Limbang also reverted into an orange zone from a yellow zone with 24 local infection cases recorded in the last two-weeks.
Sarikei and Beluru are now red zones, as both districts reported a total of 46 and 49 local infection cases respectively in the last fortnight, while the number of yellow zone districts remains unchanged with six districts.
As of today, a total of 28 districts are classified as red zones, namely Beluru, Sarikei, Lubok Antu, Kapit, Pakan, Kanowit, Song, belaga, Pusa, Betong, Tebedu, Dalat, Selangau, Sri Aman, Asajaya, Subis, Mukah, Simunjan, Tatau, Lundu, Saratok, Bau, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, bintulu, Miri and Sibu; while Marudi, Limbang, Meradong, Kabong, and Sebauh are orange zones.
Six districts, namely Matu, Daro, Bukit Mabong, Telang Usan, Julau and Lawas continue with their respective yellow zone status.
Districts listed as red zones are the districts that recorded more than 40 local infection cases in the past 14 days, followed by the orange zone status with between 21 to 40 cases reported, while districts listed as yellow zones are those with less than 20 cases reported.
For the district to be classified as a green zone, it must have zero new cases reported in the last two-weeks. — DayakDaily
