School clerk claims trial to 7 charges of CBT

KUCHING, April 11: A school clerk pleaded not guilty to seven charges of criminal breach of trust (CBT) today involving 33 units of laptops, netbooks and tablets belonging to a school.

Nooraha Isma Rambli, 35, from Petra Jaya, was charged in three different Magistrate’s Courts.


Magistrate Faelly Jeffrey Lanjungan set April 18 for pre-trial case management (PTCM), Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi set May 10 for PTCM, while Magistrate Mohd Syukri Mokhtar set May 13 for PTCM.

As a public servant, a clerk of a school in Sarawak General Hospital, she was entrusted with dominion over the said 33 units of laptops, netbooks and tablets of different brands on Dec 2018. She was alleged to have taken these computers.

The seven charges against her are framed under Section 409 of the Penal Code, which carries imprisonment of not less than two years and not exceeding 20 years, and whipping and fine. — DayakDaily
