KUCHING, May 19: Dato Ibrahim Baki (PBB-Satok) urges the government to expedite the affordable housing projects in Sungai Maong and Segedup for the benefit of the Satok community.
When debating the Yang di-Pertua Negeri’s address today during the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting here, Ibrahim suggested the government build underpasses or flyovers in strategic areas and bridges to smooth traffic flow especially during peak hours, in accordance with the development upgrade plan for Satok and its environs.
“With the Satok area in the heart of the city and serving as a link between the Petra Jaya area and the city of Kuching, one of the issues that arises is traffic congestion,” he said.
He expressed confidence that the planned development projects, as well as future projects, will be carried out successfully, with the people of Satok enjoying harmony and stability.
“I believe that the Satok area, with its residents of various races, religions, and cultures, is an example of Sarawak’s unity and harmony.
“I pray and hope that values such as tolerance and respect can be passed onto future generations,” the Satok assemblyman said. — DayakDaily
