“Therefore, I know we have a good team in Satok which is always united and our nature of work does not prioritise ranks.

“What matters most is our intention to serve and work as a team. There is no hero in Satok,” he told reporters at GPS’ full candidate list reveal for the State’s 82 constituencies today.

He further mentioned that Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who was the previous assemblyman in Satok, has served Satok for 40 years, transforming and bringing development and peace to the constituency.

“For me, Abang Johari is a legend and cannot be replaced.

“As a loyal party member, I feel honored to be given the duty to serve and to continue his good policies in Satok. The only thing I feel nervous about is whether or not I can live up to his virtues because for me, it is impossible.

“But with the set-up that we have in Satok where there is no sort of one-man show, I believe working as a team will enable us to mitigate any problems together,” he added.

After serving as Satok assemblyman for nine terms since 1981, Abang Johari made the decision to contest in Gedong for the 12th Sarawak Election. — DayakDaily
