69yo man from Sarikei BID, as Sarawak reports 106 new Covid-19 cases today

KUCHING, Dec 3: A brought-in-dead (BID) case involving a 69-year old man from Sarikei with comorbidity were the only Covid-19 death recorded today as Sarawak reported a total of 106 new infection cases.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the man had died on Nov 22 and the body was brought to Sarikei Hospital.

Meanwhile, 106 new Covid-19 cases were reported today, pushing the total cumulative number of confirmed cases in the State to 251,038 cases.


One case was reported in Category 5 and Category 4, where the patient require intubation and oxygen support, while zero cases were in reported in Category 3. The remaining 104 cases were divided into Category 1 with 38 asymptomatic cases, and Category 2 with 66 cases reporting mild symptoms.

By district, Miri recorded the highest number of cases today with a total of 34 cases, followed by Kuching (32) and Limbang (10).

Other districts which registered new cases as of today are Bintulu (7), Sibu (6), Sarikei (3), Lawas (3), Mukah (2), Serian (2), Lundu (2), Samarahan (1), Daro (1), Pusa (1), Dalat (1) and Julau (1).

Other areas which reported zero new cases are namely Subia, Bau, Simunjan, Asajaya, Kapit, Belaga, Betong, Telang Usan, Selangau, Marudi, Saratok, Kanowit, Matu, Song, Kabong, Tebedu, Sri Aman, Bukit Mabong, Sebauh, Tatau, Beluru, Pakan, Meradong, Tanjung Manis and Lubok Antu.
