SARIKEI, Aug 4: The Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) 2026 Programme in the Sarikei Division is expected to draw 30,000 visitors when it takes place from Aug 8 to 9, making it one of the key highlights of this year’s statewide tour series.
Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Operations) Datu Hii Chang Kee said the attendance target was set based on the encouraging response received during previous SKS programmes held in other divisions.
He said organisers are anticipating an average turnout of about 5,000 visitors daily, with attendance expected to increase further on the programme’s peak day.
“Based on the response we have received at previous locations, we are confident that the target can be achieved. We welcome the people of Sarikei and neighbouring divisions to come together and make SKS 2026 a memorable occasion,” he said as reported by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas).
Hii was speaking at a press conference after chairing the Final Coordination Meeting for the Sarawakku Sayang 2026 Programme Sarikei Division at the Sarikei Sports Complex on Monday (Aug 3).
He added that 82 lucky draw prizes have been prepared for visitors throughout the programme, including a grand prize of a 916 gold bracelet worth RM15,000, along with other attractive prizes.
Visitors can participate in the lucky draw by completing their registration through the E-Contest, which requires them to provide the necessary details and answer several programme-related questions.
The lucky draws will be conducted daily from 4pm, while the grand prize winner will be announced on Aug 9 during the official closing ceremony of SKS 2026 Sarikei Division. — DayakDaily
