KUCHING, Nov 14: Sarawak’s revenue for this year has surpassed the RM10 billion mark, says Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He said in the past, the best revenue for Sarawak was RM6 billion.

“But today it is more than RM10 billion, double that in the past,” he said when officiating at the Sarawakku Sayang Programme at Sibu’s Civic Centre, which was streamed live via Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) Facebook today.

He further said the exact figure would be disclosed when he presents the Sarawak Budget in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting at the end of this month.

“But it is definitely double-digit. Never in the history of Sarawak has such a big revenue been reached, but so far, I have done it; GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) has done it.

“These are all the developments we want to implement towards 2030, which is inclusive and sustainable and sharing the prosperity with all regardless of race or religion,” he added.

During the DUN sitting in May, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas disclosed that Sarawak has collected revenue totalling RM3.108 billion in the first quarter of 2022 or 31 per cent of the estimated revenue of RM10.036 billion for this year.
