KUCHING, Aug 13: China’s Shanghai Electric Power T&D (M) Sdn Bhd has expressed strong interest in participating and contributing to Sarawak’s vision of becoming a renewable energy hub in the region.
This intention was communicated by the company’s chairman, Wu Lei, during a courtesy call on the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia yesterday (Aug 12).
According to a news report by TVS, Wu highlighted the energy company’s admiration for Sarawak’s progressive efforts in expanding its renewable energy sector.
He also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet with the Premier to convey the company’s enthusiasm for exploring potential collaborations under Sarawak’s master plan.
Sarawak Federation of Chinese Associations of Kuching, Samarahan and Serian Division (SFCA) president Dato Richard Wee was also present. — DayakDaily
