Sarawak’s new bank, airline, and infrastructure projects highlight govt’s proactive approach, says political analyst

KUCHING, May 16: Sarawak’s new commercial bank, airline, airport, and seaport projects are a testament to the proactive actions of the Sarawak government, according to political pundit Dato Peter Minos.

In a statement today, Minos opined that these projects would benefit not only Sarawak but also its people.

According to him, the new commercial bank will surely spur development and businesses, while the new airport and sea port will help increase number of tourists including boosting tourism industry, and bringing new businesses.

Additionally, Minos highlighted the potential of the Bintulu Port, which has been taken over by the Sarawak government.

He suggested that if linked with the Indonesian capital Nusantara via railway and road, it would open up significant opportunities for Sarawak.

“We salute Sarawak government especially Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, for the rapid development implemented to modernise Sarawak making it seen and respected in the ASEAN region,” he added.

Minos pointed out that with the current rate of development, Sarawak’s revenues are projected to exceed the targeted RM13 billion, with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of RM280 billion by 2030.

“I am very confident that Sarawak will achieve it if the current trend, initiatives, hard work and determination continue,” he said. — DayakDaily
