Sarawak’s collaboration with Brunei goes beyond tourism, says Deputy Premier

KUCHING, March 8: Sarawak’s collaboration with Brunei is not just limited to tourism but also extends to multiple sectors such as energy and commercial agriculture, including rice cultivation, aquaculture, and livestock farming, says Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), this was said during a visit to the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Brunei (STATOB) in Bandar Seri Begawan on March 7.

The aim of the visit was to be briefed on STATOB’s latest developments, which serve as a crucial link between Sarawak and Brunei to strengthen ties.

In addition, it also serves to explore the business, tourism, and social potentials that could mutually benefit both parties.

During the visit, Awang Tengah, the Minister for International Trade, Industry, and Investment Sarawak, also stressed the importance of STATOB’s management in developing effective programmes to meet its goals.

Ministry of International Trade, Industry, and Investment permanent secretary Dzolkarnain Masron and advisor Datuk Seri Naroden Majais and STATOB chief executive officer Samat Junai were also present. — DayakDaily
