KUCHING, Feb 22: The 1602 beer company will be conducting a beer brewing course, believed to be the first in Sarawak, in March.
Global Sales and Marketing Sdn Bhd chief financial officer Wong King Wei said the purpose of holding the course is to transfer the knowledge of beer brewing and skills to Sarawakians which can be passed down from generation to generation.
“The course is for Sarawakians only and would be conducted by 1602 craft beer brewing master Hans Gerner.
“It is a level one introductory course on what beer is about,” he said during a press conference on the event at an outlet here today.
The course, he further explained, is opened to Sarawakians aged 21 and above with ‘K’ on their MyKad.
“Our company vision is clear, we want to enrich Sarawakians with the knowledge of brewing to help them enhance their economic value and do better business,” he added.
Gerner said that the topics would be on, among others, how beer is made from scratch and the manufacturing process until packaging.
“We will differentiate the different types of craft beers and the process using the four main ingredients of water, barley malt, hop and yeast,” he shared.
