KUALA LUMPUR, June 27: Sarawakian Nooruddin Abdullah has been appointed as the vice president of Group Strategic Relations and Communications of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas).
The 59-year-old has held the post since May 1, 2023.
It is a new post under Petronas’s executive leadership team.
“Under this post, I would oversee the company’s management on stakeholders, internal and external affairs as well as strategic communications including media relations,” he said during a lunch with Sabah and Sarawak journalists in conjunction with Energy Asia 2023 conference held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre here today.
Nooruddin who is of Chinese and Banjar mixed heritage, hails from Bau, Kuching.
At the age of 26, he joined Petronas (Oct 2, 1989) and resigned in July 2017 to join Sarawak Energy Berhad as the company’s senior vice president for Legal and Enterprise Risk.
He rejoined Petronas in the middle of August 2021 as the Advisor on Enterprise Strategic Advisory before being promoted for the current post.
Another Borneon representative who is also inside the executive leadership team is Sabahan Datuk Bacho Pilong, senior vice president of Project Delivery & Technology. — DayakDaily
