Sarawakian divers Bertrand, Enrique deliver bronze for Malaysia at Hangzhou’s Asian Games

KUCHING, Oct 2: Sarawakian divers Bertrand Rhodict Lises and his partner Enrique Maccartney Harold delivered a bronze medal for Malaysia at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, yesterday.

The duo recorded a six-dive total of 386.07 points in the Men’s Synchronised 10m platform.

China’s Yan Hao and Lian Junjie bagged the gold with 492.63 points, while South Korea’s Yi Jaegyeong and Kim Yeongnam won silver with 387.78 points.


Sarawak’s Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, in a social media post, conveyed his heartiest congratulations to the duo for winning the bronze medal, subsequently contributing to Malaysia’s 13th bronze in the Games.

On Saturday (Sept 30), another Sarawak-born athlete, diving queen Pandelela Rinong Pamg, and her partner Nur Dhabitah Sabri won bronze in the Women’s Synchronised 10m platform with a score of 266.94 points. — DayakDaily
