KUCHING, May 26: Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd (SWB) is closely monitoring and assessing a possible treated water pipe leak at Batu 7 along Jalan Miri-Bintulu following an initial report received on the matter.
In a recent statement, the utility provider said its operations and technical teams had conducted inspections at the site and were continuing to monitor the situation to determine the source, extent and potential impact on the existing water supply system.
It said the situation remained stable and under control at this stage.
As an early preparedness measure, Sarawak Water has activated a coordination team involving its operations and technical personnel as well as relevant contractors to ensure readiness should further action be required.
Preparations are also underway involving operational planning, logistics readiness, communication coordination and contingency measures aimed at minimising any potential disruption to consumers if repair works become necessary.
SWB assured the public that the matter was being managed appropriately and that all necessary steps were being taken to ensure consistent water supply delivery while prioritising the interests of consumers.
