KUCHING, Oct 17: Sarawak has unveiled its next-generation digital labour and immigration ecosystem known as ALIANCE—short for Advanced Labour and Immigration Aligned Network for Compliance, marking a major step in the State’s drive towards efficient, transparent and investor-friendly governance.
The initiative was showcased at the Sarawak Mega Fair 2025, held at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre from Oct 16 to 17, and officiated by the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Developed under the Sarawak government’s Immigration and Labour Management Unit (ILMU), ALIANCE is an end-to-end ecosystem that automates processes, standardises procedures and strengthens regulatory compliance for business owners, investors and employees.
According to a press release, the integrated platform combines several core systems including JobSarawak (the central job portal for employers and job seekers), GENESIS (Gateway and Employment for Non-Sarawakians via Sarawak’s Integrated System), and SAFHIS (Sarawak Foreigners Health Information System), with more modules currently in development.
By consolidating these systems, ALIANCE provides a single, transparent digital gateway for both Sarawakian and non-Sarawakian entry and employment processing.
“Since its introduction, ALIANCE has significantly reduced the processing time for key stages in hiring foreign workers by approximately 65 per cent, reflecting Sarawak’s commitment to efficiency, governance, and transparent investor facilitation.
“To date, more than 180,000 job opportunities have been promoted through JobSarawak, positioning the platform as a catalyst for talent attraction and development,” the press release read.
Visitors to ILMU’s booth at the Mega Fair experienced live demonstrations of ALIANCE, showcasing how digital innovation is transforming governance and public service delivery.
