KUCHING, Feb 5: Sarawak’s Yang Di-Pertua Negeri (TYT) Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar made his first official visit to Astana today after he took office on January 26. Accompanying him was his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
According to a press release, upon his arrival at Astana, Tun Dr Wan Junaidi and his wife were welcomed by Astana’s senior administrative officer, Riziandy Nawawi and his private secretary, Junih Salleh Ahmad.
While ushering Tun Dr Wan Junaidi to Astana, Riziandy also introduced members of the staff to him.
Tun Dr Wan Junaidi was later briefed on his duties by Junih at his office in Astana.
After being briefed on his duties, Tun Dr Wan Junaidi then proceeded to tour Astana. On hand to brief the TYT on the progress of the renovation works was Riziandy.
The 153-year-old castle, built by the Second Rajah of Sarawak Charles Brooke in 1870, is undergoing minor renovations, which will be completed soon.
Tun Dr Wan Junaidi and his entourage were later accorded a high tea at the Astana before he went to the grand hall to take a group photo with Astana staff. — DayakDaily
