KUCHING, Nov 11: Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) has brought the spirit of Borneo to Taiwan, promoting the State as the “Gateway to Borneo” at the Taipei International Travel Fair (ITF) 2025.
STB chief executive officer Sharzede Salleh Askor said the participation strengthens the Board’s mission to position Sarawak as a leading Borneo destination for authentic and responsible tourism.
“Taiwan remains one of Sarawak’s important markets in North Asia, and ITF Taipei provides an invaluable platform to connect with our partners and travellers.
“As Malaysia moves towards Visit Malaysia Year 2026, Sarawak is proud to showcase what makes our State special — our people, our culture, our natural beauty, and our commitment to responsible tourism,” she said in a media release today.
During the four-day event in Nangang, STB showcased Sarawak’s five tourism pillars, including culture, adventure, nature, food, and festivals (CANFF).
The Sarawak booth provided visitors an immersive experience of its rich cultural heritage, lush rainforests, lively festivals, and distictive local cuisine.
STB also collaborated with prominent Taiwan travel agencies including ComeBest Tour Co. Ltd, China Dragon Travel Service Co. Ltd, Happy Go Travel Co. Ltd, and Nami International Travel Agency Co. Ltd (Lamingo Tour) to promote curated Sarawak packages featuring Sarawak’s heritage, nature, and community-based experiences.
STB’s participation in ITF 2025 builds upon earlier marketing efforts, including a Business Networking Seminar jointly held with Royal Brunei Airlines Taiwan in Taipei and Hualien.
Through these engagements, STB continues to deepen ties with the Taiwan’s travel industry while enhancing awareness of Sarawak’s diverse and sustainable tourism offerings.
The Board’s CANFF approach aims to spark curiosity, inspire meaningful travel, and guide visitors to discover the hidden gems of Borneo. — DayakDaily
