KUCHING, July 31: Sarawak is set to become the first in Malaysia to introduce the Kelab Rakan Integriti Sekolah—an integrity club programme in schools—taking the first step towards building a stronger culture of integrity among students.
In a TVS news report, Deputy Minister in the Department of the Premier of Sarawak (Integrity and Ombudsman), Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya, said the establishment of the club would be carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MOE) in conjunction with Sarawak Integrity Day 2026 on Aug 12.
He said Sarawak had been selected as the pilot State for the programme, believed to be the first of its kind in the country.
“If I am not mistaken, the Kelab Rakan Integriti Sekolah is being implemented for the first time in the country, and it begins in Sarawak,” he said during a press conference held in conjunction with the 2026 Strengthening Integrity, Governance, and Anti-Corruption Smart Conference (PINTAR) here today.
Juanda said the initiative was part of efforts to strengthen the culture of integrity among public offices and the younger generation.
He added that the launch of the Kelab Rakan Integriti Sekolah would be among the highlights of Sarawak Integrity Day 2026, as the State continues efforts to promote integrity values starting from the school level.
The celebration will also see the launch of PINTAR 2026 and will feature the presentation of certificates to participants of the Level Three Community Leadership Integrity Module (MIKM), involving community leaders.
Juanda said the programme would further include the presentation of the 2026 CAPCOM Special Award and prizes for the Premier of Sarawak Integrity Debate Competition 2026. — DayakDaily
