KUCHING, Dec 23: The Sarawak Education Department (JPNS) announced that a total of 1,108 new teachers would be placed in Sarawak, effective Dec 28.
In a statement, the department expressed its gratitude to the Ministry of Education (MOE) for the placement of these new teachers, all of whom are university graduates.
“Of the total, 422 teachers will be placed in primary schools and the remaining 686 in secondary schools effective Dec 28,” it said.
The department also expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak (MEITD) and Sarawak Branch Education Services Commission (SPP) for resolving the teachers’ shortage issue in the State.
“JPNS will continue to work closely with MOE, SPP and all stakeholders of education from time to time in ensuring that the teachers’ shortage issue can be resolved,” it added. — DayakDaily
