KUCHING, June 10: Sarawak is set to take centre stage in advancing sustainable transportation and regional innovation with the Green Mobility Innovation Summit 2025, scheduled to take place on Sept 8 and 9 at the Imperial Hotel Kuching.

Jointly organised by the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak, the Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), and Sarawak Skills, the summit aims to foster regional collaboration, drive innovation, and build talent pipelines for green mobility solutions.

Carrying the theme “Driving the Future: Talent, Innovation & Sustainability in Green Mobility”, this year’s summit highlights the urgent need to forge forward-looking strategies that support a cleaner, more sustainable transportation ecosystem in Southeast Asia.

The event will convene policymakers, industry leaders, educators, and innovators from across the region to exchange insights, promote partnerships, and chart the path forward for sustainable mobility.

As a flagship initiative under the BIMP-EAGA Vision 2025, the summit underscores shared goals of enhancing regional connectivity and sustainable development. Key areas of focus include advancing eco-conscious infrastructure, strengthening climate resilience, and implementing smart city solutions to reduce emissions and promote environmental stewardship.

Sarawak Skills executive director Hallman Sabri emphasised that this summit is more than just a conference—it’s a strategic platform for collaboration under the shared vision of BIMP-EAGA 2025.

“Bringing together diverse experts and stakeholders in green mobility is vital to nurturing talent and aligning regional strategies for a sustainable future,” he said in a media release today.

The summit will feature over 30 prominent speakers and moderators from ASEAN countries, the United Kingdom, China, and Australia. Key discussion tracks include talent development through education and training, innovative technologies, governance, as well as global collaboration.

The Green Mobility Innovation Summit is closely aligned with Sarawak’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, which identifies the green economy as a critical driver of growth

Sarawak has made notable progress in this space, from pioneering hydrogen fuel technology—including Southeast Asia’s first hydrogen-powered buses—to expanding electric vehicle charging networks and investing in smart city initiatives.

Sarawak is also strengthening its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes to build a workforce ready for the green and digital economy.

These forward-looking initiatives reinforce Sarawak’s position as a regional leader in sustainable development and innovation, making it a fitting host for this landmark summit.

Organisers welcome all interested parties to participate in the Green Mobility Innovation Summit 2025. Opportunities are open for speaker engagements, delegate attendance, exhibition showcases, and collaborative promotional activities.

The summit offers a unique platform to connect with regional thought leaders, explore breakthrough technologies, and shape the future of mobility in Southeast Asia.
