KUCHING, March 19: Sarawak will host the highly anticipated Asia Carbon Conference (ACC) 2025 on May 29–30 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and sustainability advocates to explore the latest trends, policies, and innovative solutions in carbon management and climate action.
Organised by Argus Media and hosted by Sarawak’s Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability (MEESty), the conference is expected to attract around 400 delegates from across the region and will be officiated by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who will also deliver the keynote speech.
“The Asia Carbon Conference provides an essential platform to discuss carbon pricing, carbon capture and storage (CCS), nature-based solutions, policy frameworks, and investment opportunities.
“The role of carbon markets is critical in accelerating emissions reduction, and Sarawak is keen to explore innovative mechanisms that promote sustainable business practices while unlocking economic potential,” said MEEsty deputy minister Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni during a press conference on ACC 2025 held today at Bangunan Baitul Makmur I, Petra Jaya here.
This premier conference will provide a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration, featuring expert speakers primarily from Singapore, India, Australia, and the European Union (EU). It will address key topics, including carbon markets, net-zero strategies, sustainable energy transitions, and corporate climate responsibility.
Participants will have opportunities to interact with global experts, join panel discussions, and discover innovative technologies shaping the future of carbon management across Asia and beyond.
A notable highlight of the event is the VIP Government Fireside Chat, featuring in-depth discussions on creating an integrated ASEAN carbon marketplace and tapping renewable energy potential across Asia. This session promises valuable insights from government and industry perspectives on emerging carbon market dynamics and regulatory trends.
Early bird registration, offering special discounted rates, is available until May 9. Interested participants are encouraged to register early to secure their attendance at this important sustainability forum.
