KUCHING, May 20: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC) will be holding its annual Biodiversity Day at KM20 Jalan Borneo Heights, Semenggoh on May 27, from 8am to 5pm, with free admission.
The event is themed “From Agreement to Action: Build Back Biodiversity”, which focuses on promoting actions to support the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
It also provides an opportunity to engage and educate the public, school students, universities, and research institutes about the importance of conserving biodiversity.
Participants can get entertained with a range of activities, including a science games exhibition, traditional knowledge showcase, guided jungle trekking, and exhibitions from various agencies and local communities.
SBC chief executive officer Dr Yeo Tiong Chia said this year’s Biodiversity Day theme is important as they continue to work towards protecting and conserving Sarawak’s rich biodiversity.
“We hope to inspire action and promote awareness among the public, especially the younger generation,” he said in a statement today.
