KUCHING, Aug 18: Sarawak’s ten-pin bowling team has once again captured the spotlight at the 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma) 2024, further asserting their dominance in the competition.

According to a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news report, in a thrilling display of skill and teamwork yesterday (Aug 17), 21-year-olds Fan Yew Tsen and Nur Hazirah Ramli outshone their competitors in the mixed team category, amassing an impressive 2,547 points.

Their outstanding performance earned them the coveted gold medal, adding to Sarawak’s medal tally and reinforcing their supremacy on the lanes.

Following closely behind the golden pair were their fellow Sarawakians, Claudia Kumang Jakson, 17, and Muhammad Ihsan Fikri Suffian, 20, who secured the silver medal with 2,476 points. Team Penang completed the podium with 2,462 points.

Day 3 of the ten-pin bowling competition left the nation in awe as Sarawakian bowlers maintained their winning momentum, continuing their impressive gold streak.

The competition is set to intensify today (Aug 18) as the men’s and women’s trio categories take to the lanes, promising more electrifying action in the pursuit of glory.

Sarawak is currently in the lead for the Sukma 2024 medal tally, having secured an impressive total of 31 medals with 13 gold, 11 silver, and seven bronze. — DayakDaily
