Hii, who is also the Deputy Secretary of the Sarawak government, said that while the sports village is waiting for the OP to be issued, the athletes already have their hotel bookings arranged.

“We need to see (about the Sports Village). We don’t know if it’s (OP issuance) in time. It’s (Sarawak Sports Village) already completed,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hii also shared that 20 out of 37 sports events will be broadcast live via Television Sarawak (TVS), Radio Television Malaysia (RTM), and the Sukma website, while the remaining events will be recorded and available for viewing later.

“The sports event will be recorded from the beginning until the finals,” said Hii and commented that they are looking to provide more comprehensive live coverage for the audiences.

He also shared that approximately 20,000 people are expected to be involved in the upcoming Sukma, including around 10,000 athletes, 2,000 police officers, and about 3,000 volunteers. — DayakDaily
