Sarawak sees zero Covid-19 positive case, Wisma Saberkas Cluster ends

KUCHING, Dec 13: Sarawak reported zero cases of Covid-19 today while the Wisma Saberkas Cluster in Kuching has ended.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today said there were no positive cases of Covid-19 reported.


With no new positive case reported, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remained at 1,075 cases.

The committee said the Wisma Saberkas Cluster has been declared ended after no new Covid-19 case emerged in the past 28 days.

With the end of a Covid-19 cluster, SDMC said there were still two Covid-19 clusters which are still active.

They are the Greenhill Cluster which involved 91 positive cases and the Besi Cluster which involved 12 positive cases.

SDMC said there was one Covid-19 patient who recovered and was allowed to be discharged from the hospital.

Nevertheless, the committee said there were 12 patients who were still receiving treatment at the isolation wards in the hospitals.

It noted 10 Covid-19 patients were being treated at the Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching while one patient each in Bintulu Hospital and Miri Hospital.

On the bright side, SDMC said there were no new Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) cases reported and none awaiting laboratory test results.

Apart from that, the committee said there were 538 new Person-Under-Surveillance (PUS) who registered into hotels and quarantine centres to undergo the compulsory 14 days quarantine.

With the additional 538 PUS, it noted that there are 4,438 PUS who were undergoing quarantine at 41 hotels and quarantine centres throughout Sarawak.

SDMC said a total of 38,978 PUS have completed their 14 days quarantine period today.ā€”DayakDaily
