Sarawak records zero new Covid-19 cases

KUCHING, July 27: There were no new Covid-19 cases reported in Sarawak today, says State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas during a press conference to give updates on the Covid-19 situation in the state today.

Thus, the cumulative number of cases in Sarawak remains at 650 while the number of fatalities remains at 19.


Yesterday, Sarawak reported one fatality involving a 63-year-old woman.

Uggah also disclosed that there are total of 68 individuals still receiving treatment in hospital isolation wards with no new recoveries reported.

There are also a total of 11 new Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) cases and two cases awaiting laboratory test results.

With no new positive cases today, the number of cases linked to the nine active clusters in Sarawak remains unchanged.

Uggah disclosed that there were 76 Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) who have checked into various hotels across Sarawak to be quarantined.

There is now a total of 640 individuals under quarantine in 11 hotels throughout Sarawak while 19,159 PUS have completed their 14-day quarantine. — DayakDaily
