KUCHING, July 27: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Women chief Kho Teck Wan takes no side on Padungan assemblyman Wong King Wei’s disagreement with Democratic Action Party (DAP) that led to his resignation yesterday.

Kho opined that any disappointment Wong has towards his own party is an internal party matter despite her surprise to hear about the news.

Refused to be renominated as DAP Padungan candidate, Wong announced his resignation from the party last night (July 26, 2020), saying that he had to announce his resignation now as the Sarawak election is around the corner.

He expressed his dissatisfaction over DAP’s refusal to listen to any dissenting voice and lack of inclusivity in opinion and viewpoints as well as the party’s failure to fulfil its promises when it was helming the government for 22 months.

In response to Wong’s statements in his resignation letters, Kho expresses her respect for his decision and wishes him the best in his future endeavour.

She also commented that Wong’s decision to quit the party marks the failure of the opposition to represent the people when they could not even keep their promises.

His statements are a testimony that the PH (Pakatan Harapan) government and DAP truly failed the people in bringing change and transformation to the Malaysian government.

“For all the promises that PH failed to deliver and decisions that were turned around, it is a lesson for all of us in politics irrespective of political divide,” she said. —DayakDaily
