Fatal accidents also saw a significant decline, from seven cases last year to three this year, marking a 57.1 per cent decrease in fatalities.

The victims comprised one motorcyclist, one lorry driver, and one four-wheel-drive passenger.

“The main cause of accidents was driver negligence, including speeding, loss of vehicle control, head-on collisions, and rear-end crashes,” Mancha said in a statement today.

Throughout the operation, Sarawak police issued 3,804 summonses for various traffic offenses, focusing on violations that could lead to accidents while ensuring smooth traffic flow. – DayakDaily
