Sarawak reaffirms commitment to work with MACC to tighten govt contract, procurement procedures

KUCHING, March 7: The Sarawak government will continue working with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to monitor mechanisms and tighten procedures for awarding government contracts and procurement.

According to the Sarawakku Facebook page, Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg also added that strategic measures need to be intensified to raise awareness of the importance of integrity in the public service sector, says Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He said this when receiving a courtesy call from the Sarawak MACC director, Hasbilah Mohamad Salleh, at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia, today.

During the courtesy call, the Premier also stressed the State government’s commitment to strengthening a transparent and responsible work culture, especially in ensuring that civil servants carry out their duties with integrity, accountability, and discipline.

He said that the Sarawak government will continue working with the MACC to monitor mechanisms and tighten procedures for awarding government contracts and procurement.

The courtesy call aims to strengthen the close relationship and cooperation between the MACC and the Sarawak government in ensuring a more effective, clean, and free administration from any form of misconduct.

Through this collaboration, it is hoped that the culture of integrity will continue to be implemented as the main thrust in the public service sector, thus increasing the people’s confidence in the State’s administration and governance system. — DayakDaily
