Sarawak prohibits gathering of more than 3 people in public places during MCO

KUCHING, May 28: No more than three people are allowed to gather at public places without good reason during Movement Control Order which will be enforced in Sarawak from May 29 to June 11.

As per latest MCO standard operating procedures (SOP), individuals and groups are only allowed to go out for purpose of carrying out official duties, in the essential services and activities supporting the chains of essential services, to seek medical treatment, to get food supply, daily necessities, medication and diet supplements, and attend appointments for Covid-19 vaccine jabs.


Note that there will be a night curfew from 10pm until 5am throughout the MCO period.

The operating hours for economic and industrial sector as well as other permitted activities are from 6am to 8pm, except for certain essential services including public and private hospitals and clinics which are allowed to operate at full capacity without time limit.

High-risk individuals and children below the age of 12 are not allowed in public places, open areas and crowded areas without good reason.

The ban on inter-state travel will be maintained except with police permit and subjected to approval from the State Disaster Management Committee through EnterSarawak app including health declaration.

Inter-zone travel is also not allowed except for essential services with police permit or authorisation letter from employers or work pass. — DayakDaily
