KUCHING, Aug 3: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will share his concerns on the acquisition of MASwings and Sarawak’s role as one of the Asean tigers on Money Matters, TV3’s business flagship programme, airing this Saturday (Aug 5) at 5pm.
This show will be hosted by Zahir Kelvin Ong Abdullah.
The Sarawak government has agreed in principle to take over MASwings as proposed by the Federal government instead of starting its own boutique airline.
So far, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been reached between Sarawak and its parent company, Malaysian Aviation Group (MAG), to initiate discussions on the airline’s acquisition.
The programme’s executive producer Josephine Dass explained that the show will engage with Sarawak Premier to delve into the State government’s decision to set up its own airline through the acquisition of MASwings.
“They will also talk about Sarawak emerging as not only the strongest State in Malaysia, but has also achieved a status that is respected in the Asean region and is recognised as one of the Asean tigers.
“The Land of the Hornbill has always been a perfect example of multiracial unity, especially when compared with the Peninsular, which is important in a plural society. We will find out from the Sarawak Premier how this can be harvested for a better standard of living,” she shared in a press statement today.
The exclusive interview with Sarawak Premier is set in Kuching and will also cover the Sarawak’s Post-Covid Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
The new season of Money Matters is produced by Muhammad Farhan Zainal. Following a brief three-month break, TV3’s business and financial talk show resumed its discussion on July 29, 2023.
