Sarawak police to propose installing CCTV at Sg Tujoh border checkpoint

MIRI, Aug 17: The Sarawak police is keen to enhance border control along the Miri-Brunei border at the Sungai Tujoh Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex through the installation of a Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system.

Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri said the installation of CCTV at the Sungai Tujoh checkpoint along the Miri-Brunei border will help to boost security and border control in the future.


“We will put forward this proposal to the Ministry of Home Affairs for consideration,” he said when met today after carrying out his first official working visit here.

He was accompanied by State Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata and Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu.

Earlier on, Mohd Azman and his entourage attended a briefing with Immigration Department personnel on the Sungai Tojuh ICQS checkpoint operation.

On his visit today to the Sungai Tujoh ICQS, Mohd Azman expressed satisfaction with the facility and is keen to collaborate with the Immigration Department Miri to enhance border security. — DayakDaily
